Patterned Scrubs for Fall that Work | ThriveAP

Written by Erin Tolbert, MSN, FNP-C | Oct 30, 2014 4:57:58 PM

I’m not usually a big patterned scrub wearer. I stick to my good ‘ole, road-tested, monochromatic blue or black sets. But, I have noticed companies stepping up their style when it comes to America’s favorite healthcare wear over the past year or two. Mirroring popular styles commonly seen on the streets of fashion locales like NYC, scrub makers are getting the picture when it comes to choosing patterns.

This year, I may have to change my tune when it comes to my fall work wardrobe. There are a few chic picks on the market when it comes to scrub tops and bottoms this season. Here are a few purchase-worthy options.

1. NFL Team Scrubs

Okay, okay, so these aren’t quite patterned, but logos count, right? Support your favorite team this football season by sporting their colors and logo with NFL Team Scrubs. As an added bonus, tops and bottoms are available for purchase. I recommend wearing your team’s scrub bottoms with a plain top for a sporty but not over-the-top look.

2. Peaches Yvette V-Neck Print Top

If you’re a fan of the ikat trend, this one’s for you. Jewel tone hues, including emerald green, my absolute fave, signal nothing other than fall in Peaches’ Yvette Top. The navy detail along the neckline and sleeves of this top make it perfect to pair the the navy scrub bottoms you already have in your closet.

3. Koi Honeycomb Bailey Top

Nurse practitioners with a more classic style will appreciate this top. Solid color blocking  on the sleeves gives off a more subtle impression than many patterned scrub options. The back of Koi’s Bailey Top features a D-ring belt giving the top a more fitted look.

4. Healing Hands Retro Tie Dye Jamie Top

Tie dye is totally ‘in’ this season and Healing Hands is embracing the trend with the Jamie Scrub Top. Better yet? The top is currently on sale, so ladies it’s time to stock up. Pair the top with pewter bottoms to keep your look from becoming too busy.

5. Koi Kathryn Print Wrap Top

I’m loving the chartreuse animal print of this pick. With a hint of taupe and olive green, Koi’s Kathryn Print Top comes across classy enough to wear to work while still making a bold fashion statement. Priced at just $17, this top makes an affordable addition to any NP’s fall work wardrobe.

6. Grey’s Anatomy V-Neck Laser Cut Top

For nurse practitioners craving subtlety when it comes to the workplace wardrobe, the Grey’s Anatomy V-Neck Laser Cut Top is an excellent option. The decorative cutout detail of this top gives it just a little something extra. The top comes in five color combinations.

7. Koi Black Beauty Top

The mock wrap style of Koi’s Black Beauty top adds to it’s appeal giving a flattering fit. Two patch pockets allow for storage of pens, a pulse oximeter, and whatever else you need to make it through your day. Pairing this top with black bottoms makes for a fun scrub set without coming across overly flashy.
