Nurse Practitioner Residency Opportunity in Oregon
Are you looking for a nurse practitioner residency? If so, this week’s featured facility is a great fit for the NP looking to live out west while building a clinical foundation for the nurse practitioner career. This residency opportunity is at an FQHC located in beautiful southern Oregon. Tucked tightly away in a valley situated between four national forests, one national park and a breathtaking two-hour scenic drive to the coast, this facility is the pinnacle location for the outdoor adventurer.
The motivated NP/PA matched with this facility will be working in a health center that is committed to serving a diverse group of patients across the lifespan, with a slightly larger geriatric population. Multi-disciplinary teams focus on providing excellent medical care supporting the emotional and social needs of their patients. These teams include a mix of physicians, family nurse practitioners, physicians assistants, health coaches, nurses and medical assistants. The NP matched with this opportunity will learn from experienced team members who enjoy mentoring new graduates. The family practice environment is an excellent place to build a well-rounded clinical foundation.
Along with being a dynamic FQHC, not only is this facility committed to making their community healthier, they are committed to a healthy work/life balance for their employees. Full time employees generally work a four-day work week, with 4 weeks of paid vacation per year in addition to 1 week for CME. They are also a National Health Service Corp loan repayment site, with a HPSA score of 20 making loan repayment a like prospect for those who qualify.
In addition to a fantastic residency opportunity, you will also live comfortably in a community with a great outdoor and cultural life. The Oregon Shakespeare Festival runs from March through November and is highly regarded for both traditional drama and innovative productions. There is a fine dining and a diverse visual arts and music scene. The Rogue River, the Upper Sacramento and small Cascade streams are nearby. If you are looking to get out of town, taking an hour drive out of the valley will place you around numerous mountain lakes and unbelievable views. Additionally, there is an active community of endurance athletes, mountain bikers and golfers who enjoy and take full advantage of the great outdoors.
If you are an nurse practitioner or physician assistant with a passion for working with low-income families, migrant workers and community health patients, this facility may just be for you.
