Gotta Have ‘Em Seersucker Scrubs for Spring

I’m sitting at my kitchen table post pulling a 12 hour shift in the ER experiencing a slight case of writer’s block. Naturally, when I have writer’s block, I pull out all the stops when it comes to procrastinating. As every girl knows, there’s no better way to procrastinate than watching the three hours worth of The Bachelor. My excuse? One of my long lost friends from middle school is making an appearance on the show this season. While I am struggling to see longevity in the connection between Bachelor Chris and his latest lovers, watching the girls prance around in the trendiest spring fashions gave me an idea.

Inspired, I browsed the web, Pinterest, and, yes, my own closet, for some fun spring scrub fashion trends.  With little avail I was reminded of how utterly boring my work wardrobe can be. Fortunately, all hope was renewed when I landed upon the Blue Sky Aurora collection.

Living in the South I am all too familiar with seersucker.  Be it a football game in the 90 degree heat, a spring wedding, or simply a special occasion BBQ, seersucker makes an appearance every spring in the South.  Call it fratty, call it pretentious, or just fun, festive and cute, nothing says spring like blue (or pink) and white stripes. Blue Sky got it right when creating this unique collection.

While I don’t own any items from the Aurora Collection specifically, I do own Blue Sky products and never wear them without getting at least one compliment on my wardrobe de jour. The scrubs are super comfy.  My only concern with Blue Sky’s Aurora collection would be that certain undies would show through the light fabric. Can any Aurora owners give us some insight?  The Railroad Aurora Bottoms and Hickory Aurora Bottoms sport super-thin strips offering more complete coverage.

Blue Sky’s Aurora Scrub Bottoms don’t come with matching scrub tops, but I have decided this is a good thing. Straight up stripes might be a bit too much for work. Try pairing your new Aurora’s with a solid navy blue or white top to round out your outfit. And, if you’re not one for trying new trends at work, these look like they make excellent pajama pants.

On that note, happy almost spring everyone!  Sport your seersucker, as scrubs or otherwise, with pride.
