Did you miss last week’s ThriveAP+ info session? If you couldn’t make it, we totally understand. Between clinicals and classroom assignments, as a nurse practitioner student you’re busy. Not to worry – we’re happy to recap the session for you. Despite the chaos that is NP school, it’s never too early to think about the step you’ll take when you graduate. Where will you work? How will you obtain the training you need as a new grad to continue building a successful foundation for practice?
Recognizing the learning curve that new nurse practitioners face, more and more NP grads are turning to residencies. Our version of a residency for NPs, dubbed ThriveAP+, helps new grads transition from education to practice with purpose.
ThriveAP+ offers support to nurse practitioners by matching them with a supportive facility dedicated to helping overcome the learning curve that new graduates face. This includes working alongside experienced NPs, PAs and/or MDs committed to mentoring and training as well as maintaining expectations in line with what new grads can handle.
In addition to facility-based support, ThriveAP+ participants take part in our ThriveAP curriculum, a 12-month, formal curriculum to help continue building the clinical foundation started in your NP program. ThriveAP kicks off with a conference in Nashville featuring suturing and office procedures skills sessions along with presentations on topics like EKG and X-ray interpretation.
