2017 Grads, Meet the ThriveAP+ Experience

We are so excited over here at ThriveAP headquarters about the success of ThriveAP+. The inaugural year of our residency-like program for nurse practitioners is off to a strong start. We have nurse practitioner new grads, and even a few experienced NPs, jetting off to locations across the country to interview with prospective sites. Some have even finalized commitments to work with populations in areas of medical need for the 2016-2017 ThriveAP class.

We can’t thank our ThriveAP applicants enough for their commitment and excitement about the program. We are looking forward to a year of facing the challenges and triumphs of life as new grads working in medically underserved communities together. Our applicants to the 2016 class have been top notch and ThriveAP+ sites can’t wait to have them as part of their teams.

Our 2017 application and information packet is in the works, so stay tuned for the final product. In the meantime, 2017 ThriveAP+ applicants can check out the upcoming application timeline and plan accordingly.

August 2016 – Application Released

ThriveAP+ application for Fall 2017 – 2018 program available.

January 1, 2017 – Early Application Deadline

Applicants submitting required materials by this date have a greater likelihood of matching with a site in their preferred location and practice setting.

March 31, 2017 – Final Application Deadline

Completed ThriveAP+ applications must be postmarked by this date.

March-June 2017 – ThriveAP+ and Site Interviews

Initial phone interviews with ThriveAP, the matching process, site phone interviews, and on-site interviews with ThriveAP+ facilities, will be conducted during this timeframe. The exact timing of the interview and matching process depends on the applicant’s graduation date as well as the needs and availability of ThriveAP+ sites.

May-July 2017 – Matches Finalized

Final acceptance and matching decisions will be made in spring and summer 2017. The timing of this process depends on when your application is received, your graduation date, and the needs of the site you match with. Some participants may also being practicing at their site during this time, prior to the ThriveAP kickoff.

September 14-15, 2017 – ThriveAP Kickoff in Nashville!

ThriveAP+ applicants will converge on Music City to meet each other and begin the ThriveAP experience. Speakers from various clinical specialties will present on topics related to participant’s practice areas. And, there will be plenty of time for evening entertainment!

October 2, 2017 – The ThriveAP Experience Begins

All participants on site, weekly ThriveAP+ curriculum begins.
